Decadence Speaks Louder than Words

One step into Anna Shea Chocolates and Lounge in South Barrington, and you know you’ve come home. The bon bon’s are a slice of heaven, the atmosphere warm and cozy, and the employees treat you like family.

The main event at Anna Shea is the artisan chocolates, hand crafted, hand-filled, and hand-painted to look more like works of art than edible treasures. Just one bite assures you that it was well worth it to ruin a perfectly beautiful piece of chocolate.

Anna Shea is originally from Finland and studied chocolate for 10 years before beginning a successful chocolate shop in New York five years ago with her husband Tim. Always a budding artist, she combined her love of chocolate and art to create edible masterpieces.

Debi Jenrette, Tim’s aunt, decided to start the South Barrington location, expanding the idea to include a wine lounge in the store, so that she could hold events such as bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and high teas, or where everyday customers could dine on Fondue For Two or sample wine and chocolate.

In addition, the store offers specialty confection items like chocolate bark, chocolate covered popcorn and potato chips as well as specialty drink items like chocolate-based lattes and made-from-scratch hot chocolate.

Debi also hosts a monthly chocolate and wine tasting party in the store, where customers can purchase tickets for different wine and chocolate experiences.
